This series satisfies multiple common core standards for grades 1-6 as it combines poetry and natural science facts, and focuses on vocabulary & meaning. Just one example is: CCSS.ELA-Literacy.RL.1.10 With prompting and support, read prose and poetry of appropriate complexity for grade 1. (Reading grade levels range from 1-6)
