Description
California Council for the Social Studies teachers present an #EduProtocol that spans the K-12 grade levels and promotes inquiry in Social Studies research projects. This collaborative strategy moves students out of the copy/paste cycle by having them compare two like or unlike topics and develops writing skills that can be transferred to larger research projects.

Learning Outcome #1
Participants will be able move their students away from simply copying and pasting summaries to comparing and contrasting two like or unlike topics.

Learning Outcome #2
Participants will be able to use the Cyber Sandwich protocol to cover multiple content standards and maximize their instructional time.

Standards
CCSS RSL-HSS: Determine the central ideas or information of a primary or secondary source; provide an accurate summary that makes clear the relationships among the key details and ideas.
