Every student must be web literate. Research shows that the majority of our students are over confident about their research skills. A teacher’s role is more important than ever. This popular session provides step-by-step teaching tips for helping students think critically about internet information.

Learning Outcome #1
Audience will be challenged with search problems to compare results with advanced search skills.

Learning Outcome #2
Audience will be challenged to design an assignment in their content area that directly teaches students to be web literate

For Students: Empowered Learner Students build networks and customize their learning environments in ways that support the learning process. Digital Citizen Students engage in positive, safe, legal and ethical behavior when using technology, including social interactions online or when using networked devices. Innovative Designer Students exhibit a tolerance for ambiguity, perseverance and the capacity to work with open-ended problems.
