DescriptionTeachers and administrators are increasingly making informed educational decisions based on student data. While this data provides a wealth of information, and new technologies can meaningfully disaggregate the data, there is an inherent risk associated with data storage/sharing. Join us for a conversation about protecting our students by protecting their data.
Learning Outcome #1Participants will be able to explain the importance of protecting student data as education continues to use data to inform instruction. They will also be able summarize the key points of federal laws concerning the protection of student data privacy, and what many districts and education vendors are doing to remain compliant.
Learning Outcome #2Participants will be able to access resources to continue the conversation at the school site or district level to ensure that all parties involved in the education process are aware of and adhering to Student Data Privacy laws. Furthermore, participants will be able to read and interpret the fine print regarding student data online, identify potential issues, and be prepared to address issues should they arise.
