In this poster session, participants will be engaged with different Arduino projects including smart cars and fun maker designs. Throughout the poster session, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the Arduino and how it can be introduced into the classroom for amazing physical computing and maker projects.

Learning Outcome #1
At the end of the session, participants will be able to have a clearer understanding of the power of the Arduino microcontroller. They will be able to understand what a microcontroller is and how they are an integral part of bringing physical computing into the classroom environment. They will have a firm understanding of how the Hyperduino shield works with the Arduino and how it helps minimize the challenges of breadboards and resistors to allow for more direct student creations.

Learning Outcome #2
At the end of the session, participants will be presented with multiple formats and programming styles to introduce the Arduino into the classroom. By introducing Snap, Scratch, mBlock, iForge, and the Arduino IDE environments, they will understand that many languages are scaleable and allow for low threshold yet high ceiling outcomes in relation to lessons and student projects.

ISTE Educator Standard 5 Designer Educators design authentic, learner-driven activities and environments that recognize and accommodate learner variability.
