DescriptionTwo elementary school teachers explain how they eliminated homework at their school site and replaced it with a new way to foster and celebrate student achievement and success.
Learning Outcome #1At the end of the my session, participants will feel empowered to make a change in the way “homework” is implemented at their school site. They will have access to several ideas that they can take away and use immediately in their own school, ranging from whole school changes to small tweaks in what they are already doing.
Learning Outcome #2Through the use of concrete examples, at the end of my session participants will be able to understand how they can use Seesaw to incorporate frequent goal-setting and data tracking into their classroom while simultaneously communicating this information to families at home.
StandardsISTE Standard #1 Empowered Learner Students leverage technology to take an active role in choosing, achieving and demonstrating competency in their learning goals, informed by the learning sciences. Students are encouraged to practice “articulating and setting personal learning goals” and technology has been woven in throughout to help them “achieve and reflect on the learning process.”
