DescriptionCreating time for PLC team collaboration is challenging! Does your team want time back? G-Suite tools provide teams opportunities to increase productivity when meeting, so the most important work, focus on student learning, can be achieved when the team is together. Come learn how G-Suite tools turn back time.
Learning Outcome #1Educators will gain an understanding of and be able to practice collaborating as a team using Google’s G Suite tools. They will also use time in the session to create an action plan using a variety of tools for collaborating with colleagues to provide “authentic learning experiences that leverage technology”, in part because they have had the ability to do this as session participants.
Learning Outcome #2Educators will gain skills using G Suite tools, such as Google Forms and Sheets that are useful for creating common formative assessments and analyzing student learning results. Then they will create a plan to use these tools to improve student learning. Vescio, Ross, and Adams (2007) cite Darling-Hammond and McLaughlin (1995) who write, ‘‘The vision of practice that underlies the nation’s reform agenda requires most teachers to rethink their own practice, to construct new classroom roles and expectations about student outcomes, and to teach in ways they have never taught before’’ (para 1). PLCs assist in this deeper reflection on learning.
