Description
The “Rocket Readers” Program adds a new twist to STEM — Elementary students are learning how to code, program robots, and make award winning films. Often these enthusiastic students do not connect their STEM efforts with literature that they love. Participats will be challenged to connect these two worlds with life changing results. Pairing reading for pleasure with STEM. Students use Swift Playgrounds and Lego Mindstorms to connect with their favorite books through the Destiny Discover application program.

Learning Outcome #1
Participants will learn how to connect computer programing with fiction and non-fiction texts.

Learning Outcome #2
Participants will learn how to use Swift Playgrounds and connect it to literature.
