Education technology policy, legislation, evaluation, and advocacy are my current speciality areas. I initiated the CUE legislative advocacy services in 1988. Since that time have been directly involved in developing, advising, and coordinating advocacy activities for over 20 State and 5 Federal bills and resolutions related to education and technology. I was the recipient of two CUE Gold Disk and one Platinum Award, the ISTE/CUE Making it Happen Award and Education Advocacy awards from the State Educational Technology Directors Association (SETDA) and ISTE. Education career began in 1969 as a School Psychologist, School District and County Office of Education Administrator, WestEd Researcher, and Ed. Technology Director at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) in Washington DC. I served as a member of the State Educational Technology Task Force initiated by Superintendent Tom Torlakson, to develop the Educational Technology Blueprint, was involved in writing the California Technology plans in 1992 and coordinated the 1991 Educational Technology Summit which led to legislation and funding for the California Technology Assistance Projects. In 2000, contracted with the U.S. Dept. of Ed. to develop the Goals 2000 National Educational Plan.
